We got a dog!!!

Well, for one night anyway. We went for a walk one Sunday night and this cute little guy started following us. We had never seen him around the neighborhood and some people that we talked to that night said they didn't know whose he was either. It was starting to get dark and we didn't want to let him just wander in the streets so we brought him back to our house for some food and water. We tried calling animal control or some vet offices, but of course on a Sunday night, everybody was closed. We took him through the house and put him out on our balcony where he spent the night. He was one of the most well behaved dogs I have ever seen. Especially for us being strangers. The poor thing must have been on his own for a couple of days because he was very hungry and very dirty. We felt bad letting animal control take him, but due to Colby's allergies and we have no yard, we felt that it was the best option. We hope his family finds him or he is placed in a loving home.

As for other news happening in the Divecha home, we are counting down the days until our baby girl arrives. Today marks 37 more days, and that is if she comes when she is supposed to. If she ends up coming early, I'm not sure we will be ready mentally. But I'm not sure we would even be ready if she comes on her due date. Plenty of people have told us that there is no definite way to be completely ready for the arrival of a baby. I am already experiencing these emotions. The situation seems to become more real with each little outfit or pack of diapers that we receive. These won't just be cute items that we look at when we walk in the nursery, we will be putting them to use in a matter of days. She makes sure to remind us that she is on her way. She is definitely getting her exercise in with all of the rolling and tumbling she does throughout the day. How can they be so active in these last weeks, but then when they come out all they do is sleep? Even with that said, we are more than excited to finally hold her and look into her little face.

Keeping busy with the company has made these last few weeks go by faster than they already are. Colby is continuing to pick up new clients and distributors and it is very exciting to watch the company grow. We hit the 4 year mark at the beginning of January and it is nice to see that all of our hard work is paying off with steady orders and a continual income. When the company was first started, there were some major peaks and valleys, but it is reassuring to see it stay pretty level month to month. Colby works hard every day to keep the company going strong and I hope he knows how appreciative I am because it will allow me to stay home with our baby. We hope everyone had a happy Easter weekend and we might even have a new addition by Mother's Day!

The Clock is Ticking

First of all, I'm hoping that once the baby gets here, I will be more motivated to write posts and share what's going on. Too much time passes in between posts. I guess I just feel that there isn't a whole lot happening right now that is of interest. We did go on one last get away before the baby comes. Last year we went to the home show in St George and it was absolutely amazing to see some of the houses that they come up with. I knew I would be about 6 months pregnant this year and I wasn't sure if the trip would be doable. My body definitely needed a break when it was over. The worst part was just the drive. My legs didn't do too well sitting for all that time and then walking around all of the houses. It was nice to get away to some warmer weather and I knew we should take one last vacation before we are tied down to the house for a few weeks after she is born. I'm not sure how next year is looking. I can't imagine hauling a baby and the necessities down there and carrying her through the homes. We'll have to see about that.

I decided to put up a pregnant picture since we don't see a lot of friends and family in person. I keep getting requests to post pictures, so apparently everyone is curious to know what I look like pregnant. Of course not every picture is flattering when you're pregnant, so I had Colby take a few before I was satisfied enough to put it on the internet. I'm getting used to the discomfort, but it's fun to feel all the tumbling she is doing in there, and she is definitely doing a lot. We can't believe that in 11 weeks she will be in front of us and we can hold and look at her. Looking back, the time has gone very quickly and slowly at the same time, but I know these next few weeks will fly by. It makes us a bit nervous, but obviously excited for the big day to come. We start start a class this week and hopefully it will give us first-timers the confidence we need.

It's A Girl!!!

Well, it is now official. Pretty much everyone we talked to suspected that it was a girl, but we got the results on December 18 that we are expecting a daughter. We are very excited, as are the grandparents, since both sides already have a grandson. No doubt she will be very spoiled. We are already having fun picking out clothes and nursery accessories. I felt her first move inside my tummy on Christmas Day which was a great present, but she is definitely getting bigger and stronger since I can feel her on the outside now as well. I hit 21 weeks last Wednesday so it is nice to know that we are on the down slope of being pregnant. We know it will be a lot of hard work, but we most certainly look forward to seeing our baby girl and all of the fun times ahead. We hope you all have a wonderful year and look forward to the upcoming months.

Wake-up Call

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to stay overnight with our nephew Winston. Colby couldn't make it because of his allergies to their dogs. Anyway, it was brought to my attention that we have a baby coming in six months and I absolutely have no idea what to do with them. It's fine when they are happy and playful (refer to the above picture), but he was teething and was in pain and crying during the night. I was lying in bed hearing him and it hit me that taking care of a baby seems a little bit scary. Hopefully the mothering instincts will kick in and I won't be so paranoid when our own child gets sick during the night. At least I got a little taste of what is to come before it actually comes!

On the other hand, we are still very excited to have our own little angel coming. I'm finally starting to show and it's fun to tell everyone that we are having a baby. This pregnancy seems like it has lasted forever and I'm only 4 months along. At the same time, I can't believe we only have about 5 months until we are parents. I know it will go by a lot more quickly than we expect.

Time to start a family

Well, I can officially announce that Colby and I are expecting a baby. We waited to tell people until I was through the first trimester just to make sure that things were progressing the way they should. We found out on September 7th and the baby is due on May 20th. We are very excited to welcome a little one into our family. We were able to hear the heartbeat a couple days ago and it was the most amazing sound. Now I can actually believe that there is something growing inside of me! We look forward to the coming months and hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Time Flies

It sure seems like it was just the other day that I posted a blog, but here it is almost a month and a half later. Time does go by very quickly during these months that we are working ten hour days and also Saturdays. We receive all of our holiday orders at this time of year so we always brace ourselves for the busy production schedule that will follow. Hopefully things will start to settle down a little bit in the coming weeks.

We were able to squeeze in a birthday for Colby and our two-year anniversary amidst the chaos. Colby had to travel to Texas on his birthday for a big meeting with a popular grocery store chain. It was a very successful meeting so we are grateful for that and the business we will receive in the coming years. Our anniversary was last Saturday and we enjoyed the day at the zoo even though it rained all day, but that meant we were one of the few who attended. Then we just relaxed and went to dinner and a movie. I also have to mention it was our nephew's birthday that same day. We are lucky to share it with him. And I included a picture because he is just so darn cute!

Follow-Up

Well I am finally writing again. Blogging reminds me of writing in my journal, it seems I don't get around to doing it very often. We did get back from our trip to Chicago just over a month ago and it went pretty well for our first show ever. I put up a picture of what our booth looked like. We got lucky with our neighbor to the left of us who was called Cookwell and Company. They make salsas and sauces that were unbelievable. We ate a lot of his samples during the show and were able to take some bottles home with us. That's one of my favorite things about those shows. Everyone has samples, but when the show is over, no one wants to take it all back with them and we get to try a whole variety of delicious products. We generated a lot of new clients and we hope that this holiday season will be successful. We are entering into our busiest time of the year once we get into September and October, but it sure makes time go by very quickly. We just moved up to South Mountain and it's beautiful up here, but we are not quite looking forward to all of the snow.

We are coming up on our two year anniversary and I cannot believe it's already here. Time always seems to fly by when you are looking back on the past. We hope that in the near future we can start a family and I'm sure time will only go faster when that happens.
